This series digitally reinterprets traditional Chinese imagery, deconstructing classical forms through colour separation, displacement, and glitch aesthetics to explore their potential for regeneration in contemporary visual culture. Chinese Garden captures the play of light and shadow within a garden using abstract color layers, reconstructing the breathing rhythm of Eastern aesthetics. Trinity separates and reassembles a traditional statue using the three primary colors, presenting cultural continuity amidst interference. The artist’s works explore the relationship between "form—culture—emotion." Through digital deconstruction and reassembly, visual interference symbolises psychological layers, echoing the traditional ornamental logic of "constructing the whole from its parts." Thus, a continuous dialogue between ancient and modern visual languages is established within a contemporary context.

Artist  Statement
Chen Ze's creative practice centers on digital image reconstruction, juxtaposing Chinese traditional iconography, natural landscapes, and contemporary visual vocabulary within his compositions. His work navigates between the figurative and the abstract, employing techniques such as glitch art, digital collage, color separation, and visual displacement to explore the fluid states of emotion, memory, and cultural symbols. Within vivid colors and abstract structures, he both documents immediate perceptual experience and extends the implicit and meaning-focused aesthetic tradition of Chinese painting, transforming cultural memory into a new visual language and mode of viewing within a digital context.
